The plantation was built in the early 19th century and was owned by several prominent families in Louisiana, including artist Henry Adams and Depression-era governor Richard Leche. The property has a Greek Revival-style mansion that sits on a 600-acre tract of land that includes a sugar cane farm, pecan grove, and a lake.
